Install and Upgrade
Install the EyeSort 1.0 release in EEGLAB and verify the plugin version and menu.

Install the 1.0 release
- Download
eyesort1.0.zip. - Unzip it.
- Place the resulting
eyesort1.0folder directly inside EEGLAB’spluginsdirectory. - Restart MATLAB and launch EEGLAB with
eeglab.
The key path should be:
eeglab/plugins/eyesort1.0/eegplugin_eyesort.m
Do not leave an extra archive directory around that folder. A source clone is different: cloning the repository can produce a folder named EyeSort, which is acceptable when eegplugin_eyesort.m is directly inside it.
Verify the installation
In MATLAB:
which eegplugin_eyesort -all
Expect one intended plugin path. Start EEGLAB and open EyeSort. The menu should report EyeSort v1.0 and contain Steps 1–4, BDF generation, event-code conversion, History Scripts, and Help.
Upgrade safely
Close EEGLAB, remove or archive the previous plugin folder, install the new release folder, and restart. Avoid keeping multiple EyeSort versions on the MATLAB path.
Keep publication configurations outside the plugin directory. The plugin’s cache stores convenience copies such as last_text_ia_config.mat and last_label_queue.mat; these are not a substitute for manually saved, versioned study files and may disappear when replacing the plugin.
Pre-1.0 configurations should be reviewed in the 1.0 GUI before batch use. Verify region names, trigger lists, field names, event format, and every queued label on one representative dataset.
Next: run the sample workflow.
