Output Files and Directory Behavior

Names, locations, sidecars, and overwrite behavior for EyeSort 1.0 outputs.

Last updated: 2026-10-07

Dataset outputs

  • <base>_eyesort_ia.set/.fdt: optional Step 2 intermediate in the directory chosen with Save Intermediate Dataset(s).
  • <base>_processed.set/.fdt: final labeled dataset auto-saved after Step 4 to the required Step 1 output directory.

Two-file EEGLAB saving produces both .set and .fdt where applicable. Keep each pair together.

Summaries and BDF

  • eyesort_labeling_summary_NNN.csv: next available numbered summary. Columns are Dataset,FullDescription,TrialCount; appended TOTAL rows aggregate descriptions.
  • eyesort_bins.txt: default user-selectable BINLISTER descriptor filename.
  • parsed-region QC export: user-selected .csv or tab-delimited .txt.

Configuration and script artifacts

Manual text-IA and label-queue saves use user-selected .mat names. Convenience caches include cache/last_text_ia_config.mat, cache/last_label_queue.mat, and session state.

Script export defaults to eyesort_processing_script.m and creates name-based text-IA config, label-queue, and localized IA-file sidecars beside it.

Directory behavior

GUI batch inputs must share one directory. Step 2 batch temporaries use the system temp directory and are removed after final labeling. Batch event-format conversion saves each processed dataset in place; single-dataset GUI conversion updates the active EEG in MATLAB without automatically saving it. Keep original synchronized datasets read-only and write EyeSort outputs elsewhere.
