Text IA and Label-Config Schemas

Required IA columns and saved configuration fields used by EyeSort 1.0.

Last updated: 2026-10-07

Text IA table

Required logical columns are:

  • condition numeric key;
  • item numeric key;
  • one or more descriptive condition-label columns;
  • one literal-text column per ordered region.

Optional columns can be imported after mapping. Files are parsed as tab-delimited tables with original headers preserved. Region, condition, item, and descriptive columns are validated; region matching tolerates case differences and a leading $.

Text-IA configuration

A saved config contains txtFileList, offset, pxPerChar, numRegions, regionNames, conditionTypeColName, conditionColName, itemColName, trial/stimulus codes, condTriggers, itemTriggers, the five eye-event field names, useSentenceCodes, and rtl.

EyeSort auto-caches cache/last_text_ia_config.mat. Manually save a study copy.

Label configuration

Each label struct records selectedRegions, three pass flags, selectedPrevRegions, selectedNextRegions, five fixation flags, four saccade-direction flags, labelDescription, eventFormat, and availableRegions.

A full queue is a cell array of those structs, applied in order. The convenience cache is cache/last_label_queue.mat.

Compatibility

Loading a label config against different region_names produces a warning. Review pre-1.0 configs in the GUI; never assume a cached config documents version, source IA file, or conflict policy by itself.
